Provence is right in the middle of exciting Fall Happenings!

The community of Provence is right in the middle of exciting Fall Happenings!  Located just off Stoney Point Road, Provence has beautiful Peachtree Residential new homes ranging from the high $300’s to low $500’s with homes ready to move in immediately to those that are in the construction phase to homesites you can pick to build your own personal home on.  We like to acknowledge the many great events and happenings that reflect how great it is to have excellent schools and activities all within a very short drive of our community.

The Avenue Forsyth is located just 5 minutes from Provence and has great shopping and great restaurants along with an AMC Theater.  Santa will be arriving on November 13 via horse drawn carriage at 5:45 pm to magically light the tree.  Enjoy complimentary children’s activities, horse drawn carriage rides and story time with Mrs. Claus from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.  To see all the events taking place during Nov. go to http://forsyth.shoptheavenue.com

Kids in Need to Benefit from 2009 Pumpkin Festival at Sterling on the Lake!

NewlandPumpkinFestival09On Saturday, Oct. 24th, Sterling on the Lake (7004 Lake Sterling Blvd., Flowery Branch), will host the fourth annual Life is good® Pumpkin Festival and we at Peachtree Residential are proud to once again be sponsors of the event.  The festival provides a fun-filled day of good old-fashioned entertainment with all event proceeds going to benefit kids in need.  The Festival runs from 1-6 p.m. with pumpkin carving, a silent auction, craft booths, face painting, great food, live music by Donna Hopkins Band and lots of games for kids and adults.

While there, be sure to hop on the trolley to our brand new decorated model (finishing touches are just being placed on it now)!  Popcorn, sno-cones and a bounce house for the kids will all be located at the model, and there are even plans for a certain SPONGE-themed cartoon character (with very strange pants) to accompany you on the trolley ride!  In addition, a professional photographer and beautiful fall-themed backdrop will be set up for portraits of the kids, the family, or whoever you’d like (hint – it might be a good idea to try and get the photos taken BEFORE the kids get covered in hay, paint, etc. – although those photos might be cute too)!  Portraits will be only $5.00 with all proceeds going directly to charity, and you will be able to view the photos online following the event.  Your $5.00 donation will entitle you to a 5″ x 7″ print of your choice, and you will of course be able to purchase as many others as you’d like.

Last year’s event raised more than $10,000 and hopes are to raise even more this year.   Since 2006, Life is good Festivals held in Newland communities have raised nearly $1 million for non-profit organizations.

All of the proceeds, which are raised through public contributions and the sale of Life is good tee shirts and merchandise, benefit the Life is good Kids Foundation. This year, the Foundation will split the funds raised from the 2009 Newland Communities festivals equally between Challenged Child and Friends (www.challengedchild.org) which works to serve children with disabilities and their typical peers through state-of-the-art education, nursing, therapeutic and family counseling services in an integrated environment, and Project Joy (www.projectjoy.com), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to use the healing power of play to transform kids sidelined by violence, loss and poverty into healthy and joyful players in the game of life.

“There are few things more important than spending a fun, meaningful day with family and friends,” said Bert Jacobs, CEO of Life is good. “The festivals rally good people and generous communities around a great cause – supporting others in need.”

Please make plans to attend.  Remember – it’s Saturday, October 24th from 1 – 6 p.m. See you there!
