Johns Creek 5th Anniversary-Founders Day Celebration

Founders Day is the annual celebration of Johns Creek’s official incorporation on Dec. 1, 2006. The city observes the anniversary on the first Saturday in December,with a weeklong series of events. This is Johns Creeks 5th anniversary this December! The weeklong celebration unites the young city, in remembering the efforts of all those who worked so hard to make the incorporation a reality and it’s progress.  It is also a fun-filled way to kick off the holiday season.

The festivities will include a parade on Dec. 3rd.  The parade has grown to more than 80 units and thousands of participants, including a NASCAR racer, Shriner clowns, local high school clubs and bands, and colorful floats from area businesses, organizations and neighborhoods.  Santa Claus arrives at the end of the parade, riding atop a vintage fire engine. He’s then whisked away to a party in his honor at Johns Creek High School, to pose for photos.  Monday,Dec. 5th Tree Lighting of a  30-foot Christmas tree and a giant dreidel with the Mayor. There will also be the opportunity to drop-off “Toys for Tots”.  Sign giant holiday cards designed by JC 5th graders for our military personnel. There will also be a Kids’ Holiday Art Workshop and many more activites.  All events are free and more details can be found on the Johns Creek website
